Course description

According to tradition, the first Easter egg was given by Mary Magdalene to Emperor Tiberius, saying the Easter greeting “Christ is risen from the dead”. The emperor found it impossible to believe in the resurrection and said that he would only believe if the egg given by Mary Magdalene turned red. At the same time, the egg turned red. The course involves painting icon-themed Easter eggs on wooden eggs of various sizes, primed or unprimed, using the tempera technique.   Please note that those under 35 years of age receive a 40 percent discount on the price of icon painting courses. The teacher is icon painter Raija Kanninen.
