The monastery also invites guests to stay overnight.

Valamo Monastery offers accommodation all year round – from hotel-quality rooms to hostel-quality guesthouses.

All premises are non-smoking and quiet, without televisions and radios, so that the visit supports rest and quiet. Accommodation always includes a monastery breakfast.

INDIVIDUAL ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS

You can view available accommodation options and prices through the booking link above. Prices vary depending on the time of year and season.

At Christmas and Easter, full-board packages are available. These include accommodation, meals, and other festive programs.

NOTE! Through this online booking site it is possible to make ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS ONLY. Other services must be booked via reception or the sales office (e.g. monastery taxi, cruises, guided tours, etc.).

GROUP BOOKINGS

Valamo Monastery is a unique destination for group travel. More information about our group services can be found in the “Groups” menu.

Our sales office will assist you with all matters related to accommodation and other monastery services.

A monastery trip can also be given as a gift to a friend. Gift cards can be purchased from the monastery’s online shop.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS

These terms apply to individual accommodation bookings. Terms and conditions for group bookings are agreed separately at the time of reservation.

Reserved rooms are available from 4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival, and must be vacated by 12:00 noon on the day of departure. Cancellations of individual bookings must be made no later than the day before arrival. For later cancellations, the monastery reserves the right to charge the price of one night’s stay.

Payments made in advance are non-refundable in case of cancellation. However, the booking date may be changed once, subject to availability. In such cases, a seasonal surcharge may apply.

Monastery Hotel

The peaceful hotel in Luostari has 54 beds and 16 extra beds. The hotel has two disabled rooms and two apartments. All rooms have a shower and toilet. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the hotel lobby. The rooms have a kettle and coffee and tea. Valamo's wireless wi-fi network is available. There is a wheelchair ramp at the entrance to Luostarihotel.

Small hotel

The Pikkuhotelli next to the hotel building also allows pets, with 6 single rooms, shower/toilet in the hallway. Those traveling with pets are asked to contact the reception before arrival. The rooms have a kettle, coffee and tea bags. Valamo's wireless wi-fi network is available.

Academy hotel

Hotel-quality accommodation is also offered in the two-story accommodation building (no elevator) of the Valamo Community College, which has 44 beds. All rooms have a shower and toilet. There are shared kitchens on both floors of the student hotel. Valamo's wireless wi-fi network is available. There is a wheelchair ramp at the entrance to the student hotel.

Guesthouses

The Red and White Guesthouses, located in the monastery courtyard, have a total of 112 beds. In addition to the bed(s), the room equipment includes a table, chair and cupboard. The shower and toilet are along the corridor. Linens are included in the prices. The guesthouses are of the same standard as a camping lodge. On the ground floor of the White Guesthouse there is a so-called kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and kettle.

Saunas

The monastery's saunas are also available to guests upon request. A favorite in the summer is the beach sauna, which can accommodate about 7-8 people on the benches at a time.
