Course description
The course is best suited for those who have mastered the basics of icon painting and tempera technique and have already painted a few icons. Belief in angels is part of the Christian tradition and is evident in the Creed “I believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, Creator of all things visible and invisible in heaven and earth.” Angels and other incorporeal forces are these invisible spiritual beings created by God. In this course you can paint an angel-themed icon of your own choosing. There are plenty of options, from archangels to guardian angels or, depending on your skill level, an angel-themed event icon. If desired, the background or halo of the icon can be gilded and it is also possible to learn how to use assist gilding, e.g. in the haloing of clothes or wings. Icon theology deals with heavenly incorporeal forces and the depiction of angels in icons. The necessary materials can be purchased from the school. The course begins on April 29th, the previous night’s accommodation is included in the course price, and possible meals on April 28th. paid at Trapesa's normal prices. Please note that those under 35 years old receive a 40 percent discount on the price of icon painting courses. Teacher Raija Kanninen.
