Course description

Has your icon not been treated with a surface treatment or is the olifa layer matte or too shiny? In this weekend-long course, you can olifa your icon under the guidance of a teacher, continue to treat the surface that is too matte with a second layer of olifa, and correct uneven or failed olifa layers. Depending on the size of the group, you can bring 2–3 normal-sized icons to be olifa-coated, or one large one. During the practical work, we will learn about the history, materials, and techniques of surface protection of icons. You can purchase the necessary olifa from the school. The course begins on May 22nd, the previous night's accommodation is included in the course price, and any meals on May 21st will be paid at Trapesa at normal prices. Please note that people under 35 years of age receive a 40 percent discount on the price of icon painting courses. The teacher is icon conservator and painter Antti Narmala.
