Teacher

Oravala Elina

I am Elina Oravala, an icon painter and lecturer in fine arts at the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts.

In teaching, I consider it important to take the student to the edge of learning according to their own skill level. I think that everyone can know and everyone can learn. In addition to teaching technical skills, I think it is important that the painter learns to delve into and become silent in the painting process in their own way.

As a teacher, I am encouraging and friendly, as well as inspiring and enthusiastic. For me, icons and icon painting are an important part of life and I get enormous joy and happiness from both, both in everyday life and on holidays.

I warmly welcome everyone to my courses!
