Course description

In this course, we practice creative writing skills in a goal-oriented manner according to the participants. We work with diverse exercises and look for inspiration in the Valamo environment. We also reflect on the philosophy of art, the beauty of texts and writing, and the writer's own relationship to writing. We also work on texts to finish. Reading is actively included in the course content. If you have your own manuscript in progress, bring it with you. If you haven't started yet, your text will start in the course. The course also provides feedback on the texts. The course is suitable for everyone regardless of genre. So you can write poetry, prose, drama or even informational text. Polyphony is the strength of this course. The course cherishes the memory of Torsti Lehtinen as a long-time creative writing teacher at Valamo. The instructor is TeT, docent and philosophy practitioner Pia Houni.

A preliminary assignment will be sent to those who have registered for the course.
