Course description
The course is suitable for those who have taken the basic course in icon painting and those who have been practicing icon painting for a longer time. A modern icon painter has a huge number of color pigments to choose from, much more than in past centuries, and sometimes this can cause too much color in the finished icon. In this course, we limit ourselves to using only five, or perhaps even only four color pigments. A limited palette creates peace and harmony. We gain new insights into the rich possibilities of color mixing. We also produce local earth color pigment, ‘Terra di Valamo! Please note that those under 35 years of age receive a 40 percent discount on the price of icon painting courses. The teacher is iconographer Alexander Wikström. The course is bilingual Finnish / Swedish.
Continuation course in icon painting: painting with five colors 28.7.-3.8. The course price is 539 €, incl. tuition, accommodation and meals according to the course program.
The course is best suited for icon painters who have attended a basic course, mastered the basic skills of icon painting, and also those who have painted for longer. A modern icon painter has an enormous amount of color pigments to choose from, more than in the past. Sometimes this wide selection can cause unwanted “motleyness” on a finished icon. In this course, the color selection is limited: we paint with five, or only with four colors. This creates peace and harmony. We get new ideas about the rich possibilities of color mixing. We even produce our own color ‘Terra di Valamo’! The iconographer Alexander Wikström participates as a teacher. The course is bilingual, Swedish / Finnish.
This course uses the Epassin mobile application as a payment method.
