Course description

THE COURSE IS FULL, WE ARE ACCEPTING REGISTRATION FOR RESERVE PLACES

In this course you can make yourself warm sheepskin blankets. One or two blankets will make either a small blanket for the sofa, a sleeping bag for a baby or a rocking chair mat. Three blankets will make a nice nap blanket, and 4–6 blankets are enough for full-sized blankets. We sew the blankets traditionally by hand with a leather needle and waxed linen thread. The finished blankets are decorated by pressing, alternatively you can attach, for example, wool fabric to the leather side. If you have your own blankets or purchase the blankets yourself, pay attention to the softness of the leather and the cleanliness of the leather side. You can buy blankets and other supplies from the teacher (leather needles, linen thread, thimble, scissors). A material fee of 30 euros will be charged for printing. You will have access to almost 200 wooden stamps (fjellform.no), paints and all other materials needed for printing. Those who have registered will be sent a more detailed course letter. You can learn more about the vällys, for example, in the Lammasvällyt group on Facebook. The teacher is Anu Pentti, a lampuri and välly maker.

This course uses the Epass mobile application as a payment method.

Pentti Anu

I am Anu Pentti, a lambskin and välly maker from Tottijärvi, Nokia. I have been raising sheep for over 25 years and I learned about making välly at Britt Solheim's school in Åland in 2007. I have been giving sheep välly courses for ten years at community colleges all over Finland. This is a versatile job, where you learn more all the time. The best part of the courses is seeing and experiencing the joy of success together with the students. Learning in the courses is manifold, as everyone also learns from the work of others. The välly sewn by each student are unique, wonderful!
