Course description

Every person needs to experience that they are valuable, unique and irreplaceable. Then it is easy to live as themselves, to be brave, open and to experience life with all their heart. However, in life, various unpleasant experiences leave their mark on us. They make us believe that we are not worthy of connection as our true self. The shame that arises from this is so strong an emotion that it is often hidden or covered up by, for example, performing, avoiding, being passive, competing or comparing. Shame often leads to a shrinking of our own self. We do not dare to be open and true to other people. We do not dare to feel our feelings, to be creative, sensitive and open up to life. Inner loneliness may bother us. We hope that we could form a stronger connection with other people and at the same time we are afraid of what will come of this connection. The obstacles to connection are not always in others, but often also in ourselves and whether we dare to open up to it. This course will stop to reflect on how shame prevents us from living with our whole heart. The course will build a warm, understanding and joyful attitude towards ourselves. At the same time, we will learn how important it is to live in connection with both ourselves and others. A person flourishes in a connection where they can live freely as themselves. Then they will not feel detached from other people or the world around them. In the course, everyone is the best expert on their own life and is also allowed to share their own experiences to the extent that it feels good and safe. In a warm and gentle atmosphere, we will outline how to experience more and stronger connection in life. The course includes a short preliminary interview by phone, which will survey the wishes and expectations of the participants. The course starts on October 30th, the previous night's accommodation is included in the course price, possible meals on October 29th. paid at Trapesa's normal prices. The teacher is philosopher, non-fiction writer and mental health expert Samuel Salovuori.

Salovuori Samuel

I am Samuel Salovuori, a philosopher, theologian and non-fiction writer by background. I worked for a long time at Mieli ry in various expert positions. I train, lecture and hold various courses on themes that I have found to be relevant in my own life. By nature, I am humorous, gentle, enthusiastic and enjoy joint reflections. I gain strength from encounters and discussions where everyone gets the opportunity to stop and reflect on their own experience and path. Building a warm and benevolent atmosphere is important to me. There is no need to take pressure from prior knowledge. The most important thing is curiosity, the desire to stop and the ability to listen to yourself and others. Even in a few days, you can realize and discover something new about your own life. Something that makes you look at everyday life and yourself in a new way.
