Course description

The course is intended for students who have a good command of the basics of icon painting and are capable of working independently. Saint Anne gave birth to the Mother of God, whom God made the culmination of all human holiness, the only one pure enough to bear the Savior of the world within herself.

The “Saint Anne the Third” icon depicts the Christ Child with his mother, the Holy Theotokos, and his grandmother, Saint Anne. Icons have been painted on this popular subject in Western church art since the 15th century. The importance of the composition is also evidenced by the fact that 45 medieval wooden sculptures depicting the subject have survived in Finland. However, this “grandmother icon” has remained a somewhat unknown subject among icon painters in our country. You will receive a base and model at the beginning of the course. You can also purchase other tools and materials needed for the course from the institute. The course starts on November 10th, the previous night's accommodation is included in the course price, any meals on November 9th will be paid to Trapesa at normal prices. Please note that people under 35 years of age receive a 40 percent discount on the price of icon painting courses. The teacher is icon conservator and painter Antti Narmala.

The November special price is €600/OH1 including tuition, accommodation and meals according to the program.

The Epass mobile application is accepted as a payment method for this course.
