Course description

The Hodigitria or Pathfinder is one of the most important main types of icons of the Mother of God.   It is characterized by the Christ child sitting on the right or left arm of his mother, and the hand of the Mother of God raised in prayer points to the child who is the way, truth and life.   This main group includes countless different variations, such as the Tikhvin, Smolensk, Jerusalem, etc. icon.   The version painted in the course is optional.  In addition to practical painting work and guidance, we will go through the most famous compositions.   Please note that those under 35 years of age receive a 40 percent discount on the price of icon painting courses. The teacher is iconographer Alexander Wikström.
