Are you interested in traditional Orthodox icon painting using the egg tempera technique?   In the peace of Valamo, you can focus on the basics of icon painting, drawing and composition, preparing colors and the different stages of painting, adding lighter colors on top of darker base colors. Participation in the course does not require previous experience in icon painting.   The course will paint a clear icon subject, in which the most important element - the face - is the most central thing to be studied.   The necessary equipment can be purchased from the institute.   Please note that those under 35 years of age receive a 40 percent discount on the course price.  The teacher is iconographer Alexander Wikström.
