Course description

The course introduces you to traditional silk and gold embroidery, which is used, for example, in textile icons and in decorating church textiles. During the course, we will see the use of church textiles in the monastery's services and explore the museum collection. The course is taught by Leena Kuivalainen, a craftswoman who has studied the subject under the guidance of master teachers Nina and Nadeshda Osipova. The course is suitable for beginners and those who have been embroidering for a while. You can also come to the course with an unfinished embroidery project.
