Course description

In the course, we will learn about two optional painting subjects from the miraculous icons of the Valamo Monastery: the Valamo Mother of God and the lesser-known icon of the Mother of God Sweetly Kissing.   The course also offers the opportunity to study different gilding techniques, and if desired, the egg-oil-tempera technique to achieve the visual “softness” of the Valamo icon.   The course is best suited for those who have already painted at least a few icons.   Please note that those under 35 years of age receive a 40 percent discount on the course price.   The teacher is iconographer Alexander Wikström.
