Unhurriedness invites you to Valamo

Welcome to Valamo all year round!

The Valamo Monastery is a vibrant center of Orthodox religious life and culture. Located in the scenic Heinävesi, the monastery welcomes guests all year round. For today's people, the peaceful atmosphere of the monastery and the surrounding nature offer a unique opportunity to relax far from all the hustle and bustle.

When visiting Valamo, you can attend church services, explore the icons of the monastery churches, and the monastery's own and visiting exhibitions. The Trapesa Restaurant provides visitors with a diverse takeaway menu, and you can buy souvenirs in the shop.

During the autumn and winter seasons, Valamo is particularly well-equipped to visit safely and at your own pace. Valamo also works well as a remote workplace. The area has wireless internet access and a variety of facilities for working.

Valamo College courses can be found on our website and you can register for them. During the corona period, the groups of the courses are kept small enough to make studying safe for everyone.

Even a day visit to the monastery is an experience, but more and more people want to deepen their experience by staying overnight in the peace of the monastery.

A warm welcome!
