Welcome to a journey to Orthodoxy and the heart of Karelia

Explore the rich culture and stunning landscapes of eastern Finland. This journey will take you from the peace of the Valamo Monastery to the relaxation of the Bomba Spa and all the way to the idyllic landscapes and Karelian delicacies of the Parppeinvaara Poetry Village.

Program:

Day 1

• Welcome to the Valamo Monastery. Accommodation and dinner at Restaurant Trapesa.

2. Day

• Guided tour of Valamo Monastery and exhibitions. Lunch in Valamo.
  Transfer from Valamo to Joensuu.
• Introduction to the Orthodox Cultural Quarter of Joensuu and coffee at Restaurant Elias.
  Travel from Joensuu to Nurmes.
• Bomba, accommodation at the Spa Hotel. Spa.
• Dinner at the Spa Restaurant or Bomba Restaurant.

Day 3

• Breakfast. Introduction to Bomba and tsasouna.
  Travel to Lieksa.
• Exploring the magnificent Pielinen Museum.
• Lunch at Hotel Puustell. Travel to Ilomantsi.
• Exploring the Parppeinvaara poetry village.
• Karelian pie coffee in Parppeinpirtti. Journey from Ilomantsi to Joensuu.
• Overnight stay at Hotel Lietsu.

Day 4

• Breakfast.
• Exploring Joensuu market square and the Taitokortteli next to the market square.

For the journey home.
