Kata has been teaching a youth icon painting group in Espoo since 2015. The course fee includes paints, brushes and one icon board. Instruction can also be provided in Swedish or English if needed. Teacher

Koskivaara-Ilmonen Katarina

I am Katarina Koskivaara-Ilmonen, an icon painter, visual artist, and art pedagogue. I graduated with a Master of Arts degree from the University of Art and Design and have taught art throughout my career in various educational institutions, from adult education centers to universities. I have taught icon painting to young people and adults since 2016 at the Helsinki Orthodox Parish, and since 2022 also at Kalliolan opisto. My passion in icon painting is drawing; I could do it every day and never get bored! The best part of teaching is when a student understands something and can then apply it to their work. You can see my painted icons and other art on Instagram, the account name is ikonimaalari.
