All visitors are welcome to Valamo Monastery. We strive to enable as smooth and safe movement as possible for those with reduced mobility.

We are continuously working to improve accessibility - we are committed to improving the accessibility of digital services.

Accessible Arrival by Car

Accessible parking spaces are located in the immediate vicinity of the reception building, at the foremost corner of the building when viewed from the entrance. There are two spaces.

Accessible parking spaces are accessed via the service gate. The gate opens automatically when a vehicle drives near it.

Movement in the Monastery Area

The monastery's main services, such as the reception building, restaurant, and shops, are mostly accessible. There are also accessible toilets in the area.
However, the area also has differences in elevation and, in places, gravel and crushed stone paths, which may affect movement.
The historical buildings and environment impose some limitations on full accessibility.

We recommend having an assistant if needed.
