Course description
The icon painting course is suitable for those with basic icon painting skills and who have already painted a few icons. The subject to be painted during the course is chosen according to the painter's skill level and painted using traditional egg tempera technique on a pre-primed icon board. If desired, the icon's background or halo can be gilded, and it is also possible to learn the use of assist gilding, for example, in radiant highlights on clothes or wings. We will jointly go through the content and theology of icon themes during the course. Supplies and materials can be purchased from the institute. Course instruction begins on June 30th; accommodation for the previous night is included in the course price, and any meals on June 29th are paid at Trapesaan at normal prices. Please note that those under 35 years old receive a 40 percent discount on icon painting courses. Instructor: icon painter Raija Kanninen.
On this course, the Epassi mobile application can be used as a payment method.
