Valamo's Georgian Day on Saturday, November 7, 2026
Welcome to celebrate a day of Georgian culture, spirituality and music at Valamo Monastery!
During the day, we will explore Georgia's rich history, spiritual heritage, and vibrant culture through expert lectures, music, icon art, and culinary experiences.
Bishop Sergei of Hamina, Assistant Professor of Church Music Maria Takala-Roszczenko, and Doctor of Theology Juha Riikonen will talk about Georgia and its traditions.
During the day, you will also hear Georgian music performed by the Tevri Ensemble, enjoy a Georgian-style coffee break, and gather for a cozy Georgian dinner at the end of the day.
Come and experience the warmth, beauty, and spiritual heritage of Georgia in Valamo's unique surroundings.
The program will be hosted by author Annina Holmberg. Lectures and the music program will be held in the Cultural Center Hall. Divine Services will be held in the Monastery's main church.
Meals and non-alcoholic drinks mentioned in the program are included in the event package. Refreshments will be served at the café-restaurant Trapesa.
