Course description
The course is suitable for those who have completed a basic icon painting course and those who have practiced icon painting for a longer time. Modern icon painters have an enormous number of color pigments to choose from, far more than in past centuries, and sometimes this can lead to excessive variegation in a finished icon. In this course, we will limit ourselves to using only five, or perhaps even just four, color pigments. A limited palette creates peace and harmony. We will gain new insights into the rich possibilities of color mixing. We will also prepare a local earth pigment, ‘Terra di Valamo’! Please note that those under 35 years old receive a 40 percent discount on the price of icon painting courses. Instructor: iconographer Alexander Wikström. The course is bilingual Finnish / Swedish.
Fortsättningskurs i ikonmålning: att måla med fem färger 28.7.-3.8. Kurspriset är 539 €, inkl. undervisning, logi och måltiderna enligt kursprogrammet. Kursen passar bäst för ikonmålare som gått på en grundkurs, bemästrar ikonmålningens grundläggande färdigheter, och även dem som har målat längre. En nutida ikonmålare har en enorm mängd av färgpigment för att välja på, mer än förr i tiden. Ibland kan detta vida urval orsaka oönskat “brokighet” på en färdig ikon. På den här kursen är färgurvalet begränsbsat: vi målar med fem, eller bara med fyra färger. Så bildas ro och harmoni. Vi får nya idéer om de rika möjligheterna av färgblandningar. Vi även producerar vår egen färg ‘Terra di Valamo’! Som lärare medverkar ikonografen Alexander Wikström. Kursen är tvåspråkig, svenska / finska.
