This course is suitable for those just starting icon painting, as well as those who have been painting for a longer time. Text in an icon is not just information, but also a decorative part of the composition. This course focuses on the basics of lettering. Students will receive guidance on brush selection, color usage, and challenges related to text rhythm and composition. In practical exercises, the main emphasis is on brush technique. Please also note that those under 35 years old receive a 40 percent discount on icon painting courses. The instructor is Monk Gabriel.

I am Monk Gabriel, an icon painter and visual artist by profession. For the past few years, I have worked full-time as an icon painter, researching and delving into the diverse sub-branches of icon painting. Of particular interest are more primitive cultures and the iconography and other art forms they produce. I live and work sometimes in Finland and sometimes elsewhere in the world.
