Creativity and words open up in rest. In rest, you hear the Creator's words. Stop, settle with yourself, and write your story. Enjoy a peaceful writing weekend at Valamo Monastery, in its beautiful surroundings, amidst prayer. Rejoice in your own time - and write. Life's touches and past experiences open up through writing. Mari Vainio has been teaching creative writing for about twenty years. On the course, you gently journey with the instructor's support towards the days of your own life. Memories may arise from childhood, school days, or years of work, perhaps from events of your beloved church and its parishes. On the course, no one's texts are judged, but instead, we rejoice together in the words of life. Everyone's own precious flow of words is free to run. Life is like a large, full box. With this course, you will find ways to discover your valuable memories. Moments of stillness that lead to presence support creative writing. There will also be time for peaceful strolls in the monastery's surroundings and participation in services. They, in turn, bring life closer. Course instruction begins on July 17th; accommodation for the previous night is included in the course price, and any meals on July 16th are paid for at the normal prices at Trapeza. Instructor is Mari Vainio, who is a creative writing teacher, journalist, yoga instructor, silence retreat leader, and solution-focused coach.

Participant feedback:

"Thank you for the course, it gave me so much! As happy as I was on Sunday, I feel like the biggest insights only hit me when I got home. It feels amazing how giving space to silence and stopping can open locks in life and writing that I didn't even realize existed! You are absolutely incomparable, Mari, I am truly grateful for all the good you gave me over the weekend; you touch people's lives so deeply with your courses."
