Icon Theology Weekend 8/2027

What is an icon? What is its role and purpose? What are the criteria for iconicity, what makes a Christian image a canonical, “valid” icon? What do the colors, symbols, attributes, and inscriptions of an icon tell us? In this course, we will mainly examine icons of Christ, the Theotokos, and various saints by analyzing them with the aid of images. Come to learn and ask questions!
