Prayer Bead Course 1/2027

On this course, you will learn about prayer beads, which play a significant role, for example, when repeating the Jesus Prayer. Orthodox prayer beads are most often knotted from wool yarn and are often 10, 33 or 100 knots long. On the course, you will learn the purpose of prayer beads and the basics of making them, guided by Valamo's monastic deacon Siluan. We will also attend a Jesus Prayer service, where we can practice using the prayer beads. The material used for making the beads can be purchased from the academy, so you will have everything you need to start this journey that enriches your spiritual life! The language of instruction is Finnish.
