The Bible Through Eastern Eyes 9/2027

The Bible has been interpreted for centuries, both as Church teaching and through scientific methods. The latter is entirely in line with Western thought, but the former often lacks an oriental perspective. This course delves into the oriental Bible study of Palestinian-born Prof. Paul Nadim Tarazi, which originated within the Orthodox Church, and on which he has published a comprehensive commentary series. From his works and teachings, Docent Merja Merras has compiled the book The Bible with Oriental Eyes, which serves as the basis for the course. The course is intended for everyone interested in the topic and only requires participants to have a general knowledge of the Bible's content. Instructor: Dr. Merja Merras. The language of instruction is Finnish.
