Photography Retreat 5/2027

In the photography retreat, we will calm down and seek inspiration for creative photography. A simple pinhole camera will be built during the retreat, inviting you to slow down, focus, and observe your surroundings. In addition to the camera's operation, we will also delve into its history. Furthermore, we will develop photos using the traditional darkroom method, take photography excursions in Valamo's nature, and discuss photos and observations of the environment together. The photography retreat offers an opportunity for contemplation and slowing down amidst everyday life. The main focus of the retreat is on observing the environment and being present in the moment. The retreat is suitable for both experienced photographers and beginners. Course instruction begins on May 14th in the morning; accommodation for the previous night is included in the course price. Any meals on May 13th are paid at Trapesaan at normal prices. The instructor is visual artist (UAS) Joonas Ahtikallio. The language of instruction is Finnish.
