On the course, we will delve into the world of mushrooms. There will be mushroom excursions, lectures, building a mushroom exhibition, and mushroom dishes. In addition to identifying mushrooms, the course will teach a thing or two about mushrooms as food, medicine, and as part of the forest ecosystem. The course is led by non-fiction writer and chairman of the North Karelia Mushroom Society, Topi Linjama. The language of instruction is Finnish.

Topi Linjama on joensuulainen tietokirjailija, musiikkitieteilijä ja sieniharrastaja. Hän toimii Pohjois-Karjalan Sieniseuran puheenjohtajana ja on kirjoittanut sienistä kymmeniä artikkeleita sanoma- ja aikakauslehtiin. Vuonna 2022 häneltä ilmestyi kirja "Parhaat ruokasienet selkokielellä"
