Icon Painting Advanced Course: Female Saints 8/2026

The course is suitable for those with basic knowledge of icon painting and those who have already practiced icon painting to some extent. The Orthodox tradition knows an immense number of touching and influential female destinies: martyrs, those who performed apostolic work, monastic ascetics, rulers. On this course, you can freely choose the subject to be painted from the Synaxarion's broad selection of holy women. If a suitable model is lacking, the icon's composition can be built during the course. Supplies and materials, such as icon boards and pigments, can be purchased from the college. Course instruction begins on August 15th. Accommodation for the preceding night is included in the course price; any meals on August 14th are paid at Trapesa at normal prices. Please note that those under 35 years old also receive a 40 percent discount on icon painting course prices. Instructor: icon painter Sofia Williams. The language of instruction is Finnish.
