Tape Lace Technique Advanced Course 12/2026

This course is for you who master the basics of bobbin lace, but want to deepen and expand your skills and learn new, inspiring techniques. On the course, we will explore bobbin lace techniques from different countries and create small lace works that reflect the worldwide craft tradition. We will make, for example, Slovenian Idrija and Schneeberg tape lace techniques, the fascinating chrysanthemum lace, Russian Vologda tape lace, Bruges flower lace, and techniques from other countries. On the course, you will also have the opportunity to bring your works to life by creating backdrops for them using silk painting technique. You do not need prior experience in this technique. This part of the course gives you the opportunity to express your creativity and make each of your lace works a unique piece. You can freely choose from different techniques and also make other laces if you wish. The laces can reflect festive themes such as Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter, or they can depict nature themes or animals.

If you wish, you can make lace over a ready-made photograph. For the course, you will need to bring a possible frame for your works and an open and creative mind.
