Icon Painting Technique Course: Holy Faces 5/2027

Learn to create the face of an icon with its details, drawing on Byzantine models. We will practice drawing and painting correct noses, eyes, and mouths. The course is suitable for everyone interested in icon painting. We will prepare practice boards for color experiments. Through exercises, color perception, painting technique, and knowledge of pigments will also develop. The course is a continuation of previous summers' technique courses on nature and garment themes. Course instruction begins on May 26th; accommodation for the previous night is included in the course price, any meals on May 25th are paid at Trapesaan at normal prices. Please also note that those under 35 years old receive a 40 percent discount on icon painting course fees. The teacher is Icon Painter Katariina Koskivaara-Ilmonen. The language of instruction is Finnish.
