Do you suffer from stress, neck or back pain, breathing or voice problems? The reasons may lie in your reaction habits developed over the years, which cause neck tension, compressing your posture and thus disturbing the body's natural functions. The Alexander Technique is a thought-based learning method that you can use in any daily activity to promote your own well-being. You learn to release unnecessary tensions and restore the dynamic connection between your head, neck, and back. In this way, the musculature finds a better balance as if by itself. On the course, the teacher gently guides the student's body to find an appropriate way of functioning in everyday movements. Movement and working postures become lighter, neck and back pains subside. Breathing and voice find free flow. Presence deepens, and the mind becomes alert. Natural posture is found without tension. In this course, we apply Alexander Technique principles to self-chosen activities, e.g., walking, running, sitting at a computer, voice use, lifting, playing an instrument, etc. The course is suitable for anyone interested in giving up harmful habits. Participation does not require special fitness; daily application of the Alexander Technique improves muscle strength. Instructor: Susanna Sillman, www.aatteella.fi. The language of instruction is Finnish.

Sillman Susanna

I am Susanna Sillman, an entrepreneur from Kuopio at Aatteella Oy. I founded Aatteella Oy in 2022 to combine my two areas of expertise into one company. I have worked as a sign language and deaf-blind interpreter since 1991 and as a speech-to-text interpreter since 2016. I qualified as an Alexander Technique teacher in 2022.

I want to work with a sense of purpose, encountering each person as an individual. I take into account people's life situations, their needs, and wishes. Important values for me are ethics, trust, responsibility, and caring.
