This course is intended for icon painters who wish to learn Byzantine icon painting or deepen their expertise in it. You do not need to be a “master” to participate. The course instructor is the spiritual father of Xenophontos Monastery on Mount Athos and one of the most renowned icon painters in the Greek world. During the course, a Christ icon will be painted. Participants are selected based on applications; the application period has ended. Instruction begins on 12.7.; accommodation for the previous night is included in the course price; any meals on 11.7. are paid for at Restaurant Trapesa at normal prices. Instruction is interpreted into Finnish by Bishop Damaskinos of Haapsalu. Instructor: Hieromonk Loukas of Xenophontos. The course receives support from the Orthodox Church of Finland. No discounts are granted on the price of this course.
