Icon Painting Advanced Course: Transfiguration of Christ or Dormition of the Mother of God 8/2026

August in the Orthodox ecclesiastical year features two great feasts: the Transfiguration of Christ – which is Valamo Monastery's annual feast day – and the Dormition of the Theotokos. You can choose the icon to be painted on the course from these two themes. Alongside practical work and guidance, we will explore the theological content of these icons. The course is best suited for those who have been painting icons for a longer time. Please note that those under 35 years old receive a 40 percent discount on icon painting course prices. Instructor: iconographer Alexander Wikström. The language of instruction is Finnish.
