Intensive Icon Painting Course 3/2027

On this intensive icon painting course, you can paint an icon or icon-themed Easter eggs on a primed wooden egg. On the last weekend of Great Lent, you can participate in the monastery's solemn services, the Palm Sunday Liturgy, and the festive Vigil of the preceding Saturday, where decorated pussy willow branches are blessed with holy water. During the course, we will consider the timing of the course, the beginning of Holy Week, and we will quiet the classroom and strive to paint mostly in silence or while listening to Lenten church music. Course instruction begins on March 18th; accommodation for the previous night is included in the course price, any meals on March 17th are paid at Trapesaan at normal prices. Please note that those under 35 years old receive a 40 percent discount on icon painting course fees. The teacher is Icon Painter Raija Kanninen. The language of instruction is Finnish.
