Introduction to Orthodoxy for Youth 12/2027

Do you long for a deeper connection with Christ? Many young people in Finland are seeking authentic spirituality - a living faith that sustains them in everyday life and answers the longing of their heart. But where can one find silence, prayer, and a connection that leads to a deeper knowledge of God?

Welcome to a course where the Orthodox faith opens up as a living and holistic path towards God. The course is aimed specifically at young people who want to delve deeper into the spiritual heritage and theology of the Orthodox Church. During the course, you will learn the Jesus Prayer, a prayer of the heart that can sustain you throughout your life. At the same time, you will get to know monastic life by participating in the daily life of Valamo Monastery - precisely where faith is manifested as concrete ascetic struggle. Discussions with the monastery community offer an opportunity to learn spiritual wisdom and receive answers to questions you carry in your heart. The lives of the saints and their examples will be revealed as a source of inspiration during the course - demonstrating how Christ can be followed in this time, in one's own life. The course is not just about increasing knowledge - it is a spiritual journey that will help you to become more deeply rooted in the Orthodox faith. The language of instruction is Finnish.
